About the Language
Classified alongside other Semitic languages like Hebrew and the Neo-Aramaic languages, Arabic has more speakers than any other language that belongs to the Semitic language family. Spoken by more than 280 million people as a first language in the Middle East as well as North Africa, Arabic has many varied geographically distributed spoken varieties, some of them being mutually intelligible. Arabic is the 5th most commonly spoken native language in the world. It is the official language of over 20 countries and there are well over 300 million native speakers of the language. These speakers are largely concentrated in the Middle East, but there are minority groups of native speakers throughout the world. It is also an official language of the United Nations, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Conference, and the African Union.

Our Arabic Language Courses
Arabic Language Course at Cosmolingua consists of 6 levels. The course will take students through the letters of the Arabic alphabet in their solitary and joint forms, vowels, words and sentences. This course will incorporate some basic Arabic language skills by building up basic vocabulary and developing the Arabic writing skills.
LEVEL A1:
This level requires very basic language skills. This level corresponds to level one (A1) on the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. After completing this level, you will be able to do the following:
Understand what you hear in everyday situations, such as simple questions, instructions and messages, as well as messages on an answer phone, public announcements and brief conversations, Obtain relevant information from short written messages, public notices and classified advertisements, State and understand figures, quantities, times and prices, Fill in personal details and basic information on forms, Write brief personal messages, Introduce yourself in a conversation and answer simple personal questions, Formulate and respond to common everyday queries and requests.
LEVEL A2:
Passing this level proves that you can make yourself understood in simple German. This level corresponds to level two (A2) on the six-level scale of competence as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Upon completion of this level, you will be able to:
Understand simple questions, notices and phone messages as well as information on the radio about an everyday situation and in brief conversations, Obtain relevant information from short written messages, public notices and classified advertisements, Gather the main information from short written messages, advertisements, descriptions, letters and simple newspaper articles, Introduce yourself in a conversation and answer questions about yourself, Ask and reply to simple questions in a conversation on topics affecting you, Introduce yourself in a conversation and answer simple personal questions, Make common requests and formulate questions in everyday situations and reply or respond to these.
LEVEL B1:
On reaching this level, the learner develops a sound basic knowledge of everyday German and that you have the language skills required for dealing with all kinds of different situations encountered daily. This level corresponds to level three (B1) on the six-level scale of competence as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
At the end of this level, the learner will be able to:
Understand the details of important information conveyed in conversations, public announcements and radio reports, Fully understand important information provided in newspaper articles, statistics and everyday descriptions, Write logical private or semi-formal messages, such as letters or e-mails, Hold a simple conversation on a topic that interests him/her personally, briefly express his/her opinion on this and react appropriately to the opinion of his/her conversation partner, Write brief personal messages, Report on something, make a suggestion or agree on something in everyday situations.
LEVEL B2:
This level will give advanced language skills to the learners. This level corresponds to level four (B2) on the six-level scale of competence as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. After doing this level, the learner will be able to:
Follow the main content of specific and abstract topics and obtain relevant information from them (i.e. radio broadcasts), Understand a wide range of texts, both shorter simple texts (such as advertisements) and longer, more complex factual texts, commentaries and reports, Express him/her clearly and in a structured way in writing on the subject of complex matters and also correct mistakes in texts written by other people, Give clearly structured oral comments on general subjects and topics of particular interest to you, Take an active part in discussions on subjects he/she knows about, taking up a position and presenting his/her own point of view.
LEVEL C1:
This level calls for very advanced language skills. It corresponds to level five (C1) on the six-level scale of competence as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages..
After passing the examination, the learner can:
Easily understand relatively long radio talks and radio programmes, Understand a wide range of written texts, including longer, more complex factual texts, commentaries and reports, Express him/her clearly and logically in essays on complex issues, choosing the right kind of expression to appeal to the reader, Verbally express them spontaneously and fluently, state their own opinions formulate your thoughts and views precisely and make detailed contributions of your own.
LEVEL C2:
This level calls for very highly advanced linguistic skills. It corresponds to the sixth and highest level (C2) on the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. After passing this level, the student will: Effortlessly understand everything read and heard in German Summarize information from different written and verbal resources and coherently reproduce arguments and explanations, Express him/her spontaneously, fluently, and accurately; formulate complex concepts in nuanced language Analyze literary texts and answer challenging questions.
